hi chris,
does he have Catz HID kit? and I'm not sure about other type of bulb will fit or not...
I think it's better he should get other HID kit instead of just buying everything seperately :)

what kind of bulbs do you have?

there are only 2 different HID bulbs

D2R : these are what is used in cars that DO NOT have a projector lense. They are for reflector type headlight housings (like ours for example) That is what the "R" in the name is for. They have a ceramic coating painted on them in a certain place that blocks out the odd off colors that are produced in an HID bulb.

D2S : these are used in cars that DO have a projector lense. These have no coating but the projector lense is used to only reflect the blue/white colors

They will both plug into the same sockets. Its just the coating that makes them different. A lot of people will try to tell you that you should always get the D2S's because they have a higher Lumens (amount of light output). That is true, but if you dont have projector headlight that were ment from the factory to be HID lights than you will get more colors in the light with a brown and yellow towards the bottom of the light. (thats assuming that you've put the light in right side up, it does matter. I believe that the filament wire that goes to the top is supposed to be pointed straight down)

So I just realized I was rambling so to make a long story shorter I have the D2R's. They are out of a 2001 acura TL. I also have the starters from the same car. The balasts were broke in the wreck. So by buying a partial kit like yours I could just use my bulbs with your starters/ballasts and sell my starters off. Make sense?
