Hello all, I just picked up a fully loaded SP23 about three weeks ago. Traded in my 2000 Jetta 1.8T. Performance wise, the Jetta had an APR Chip, Bailey DV, and a CAI. Other mods were two sets of 17" rims, Boost Gauge, stubby antenna, new head unit, etc...My best DYNO with the Jetta was 191whp / 254 lb.'s TQ. Needless to say they MZ3 is quite a bit slower, but the handling is nice. Basically bought the 3 as a compromise with the wife (thus resulting in the ATX), but I am still very satisfied with the purchase. I almost baught a used Audi S4, but I just couldn't buy that much car and get an auto, so here I am. Just thought I would introduce myself before I start asking massive amounts of questions :D...So first question, I was trying to test the top speed earlier today and around 110 I noticed a little blue light on the end of the needle on the tach. Does anybody now what thats for?

Oh, BTW - I'm 27 and live just outside Philly...

Will do when I get some good pic.'s...I' really curious about this blue light and can't find any info on it anywhere...It didn't seem to be any kind of warning light..just a faint blue dot at the top of the tach...(uhm)

(scratch) I thought the SP23 package only came on the 4-door here in the states.

yeh, my brand new car with almost 2000 miles on it... the Jetta toped out at 130 when it was stock, 143ish with the mods I listed...Definitely a little disapointed so far witht the get up and go of the 3...of course I do have to get used to the power band being much higher. I had to nurse the Jetta into first, otherwise I would just spin the tires.
The overall build & quality of the 3 seems to be much better then the Jetta, but the umph just isn't there...yet :D

LOL, yeh, I'ver already been doing some reading there...quite interesting indeed...the prices I've seen have been a little steep, and I really haven't seen a "solid" list of what is in the kit...

Hiboost is a good company. Jaun wont let you down. A lot of hiboost kits are running on the proteges on this forum.

US-spec SP23 is available in both sedan and 5-door bodystyles.

As for the blue dot/light, there's one on all 3 of the gauge pods. It generates the blue hue onto the gauges when the lights are on.

No this is a pin point dot.., and I meant to say it's on the needle on the speedo, not the tach. I was told on another forum that it could just be a reflection off the blue hue in the background, but i don't think thats it, it seemed almost purposeful. I just assumed some buddy else would have noticed it as well, but I guess not. Thanks for the warm welcome all the same.

I bought my 4-door sp23 month ago. It was the last one!! But they did have plenty of the 5-doors in the back.... apparently not hot sellers. I must admit the 5-door looks a lot better on the mazda website than it does in person. but that's just my biased opinion. Congrats on the car tho!
