Not sure if this was talked about before. But, it was mentioned in the P5 section. But...

I was wondering what would be needed and done to swap the DX engine with a rotary...I forgot it's name...2 rotor twin turbo '97?

Or, am I just crazy?

I want to put my 1st gen into RallyCross. Put in a BP-T and all that good stuff. But, I wouldn't mind going nuts with the rotary....total sleeper?

i see what you are saying now from the other thread.

anything is possible with money. this would be a total one off custom job. there are no conversion kits or factory made parts which would make this kind of swap easy or cheap. custom everything = wiring, mounts, drivetrain, etc to say the least

you do not want to go with the twin turbo 13B in any case. tons more wiring and electronics to mess with and more potential for things to go wrong VS a 2nd gen single turbo 13B engine.

i think you stand to make easier and better power by working with the BP-T

Ha-ha, I don't know. It was just a thought. My friend who owns a '97 RX7 wanted to swap his engine and we had the bright idea to swap his old engine into my P5. But, my P5 is still too new for that. So, we figured we might try it in my 1st gen.

Ha-ha. Hmmm I wish I did.

Maybe I got the year wrong. I'm pretty sure he said 97...maybe 95? (dunno) I'll find out tonight and post it up.

To swap in a 13B motor, you would probaly have to convert the DX to RWD, and do all kinds of crazy fabrication to get it to work. The cost would be astronomical!! (eek2)
