ok, so we recently got our downpipe and CAI. but i still feel the lag in the car. i would figure that taking both cat's off i would feel big difference like i've heard. but to be honest, the car feel's the same with the exception of the loudness i've gained. does anyone know how i could get rid of that lag. im not looking for no major mods. and im looking to stick with stock boost for now. but i'd love to get rid of the lag that i get when im in low rpm's in 2nd and 3rd gear and sometimes even 4th gear. any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

dude form what your telling me sounds like you need to have your rpms higher.I f you r sitting in second gear at 25oo rpms and mash it.. your gonna feel some lag.. if you are having lag issues at 4000 plus then maybe you have something abnormal...

try letting your idle around 3500 for a sec or 3 then hit it

first get hard pipes if you don't have them, then move the maf to cold side of ic you should see a big difference if the problem is still there then you have a bigger issue

hhmmm second gear at 2500 if I mash it, it bounces off the rev limiter in like 3 sec. Then I get smoke off the tires...whatta think that is?

like this weekend i raced a couple cars, i was in 2nd gear at about 4k rpm's when i stomped it. and i felt the lag in the car. maybe i should get the intercooler and hardpipes, i heard the car holds in alot of heat because of the stock plastic piping.

Does your engine or intake sound funny? Do you have a slight leak in your intake pipes that might lose a bit of boost? How are your plugs?

lol.

Seriously though, I have the stock intercooler, piping, and intake/airbox. I don't think I have ever felt lag in this car.

I had similiar problem, but it only happen with RPM is low. I had changed my CAI to SRI, it helped a lot.

Yeah im w/blkzoomzoom.. I can take my intake off and spin my comp wheel and it will spin for like 3-4 seconds on its own.. Lag is nothing in this car.. Drive a 20g DSM for a year then get a msp.. It spools instantly

its kinda hard to believe blkzoomzoom about him being stock and running those times. not trying to start anything, its just hard to believe ya know.

Just because it is an 2003.5 doesn't mean the car has been flashed. I have a silver 2003.5 and it isn't flashed.

Turbo lag. At low RPMs you will always get it. It's the nature of a turbocharged car.

I have an Injen cai ant the Corksport PS exhaust and my hesitation is gone and the turbo spools much quicker and the car has been flashed that actually helped mine quite abit as far as lag isnt that a turbo being a trubo Im not that all knowing but they dont really kick in till aboot what 3800rpms

Sounds like you need to be flashed. I finally got mine done and it makes me feel a whole lot better about my car. I have a 2003.5 also.

plus if you dont have a boost guage it might feel like lag, its actually shitty tuning. The flash helps, but its still a problem.
