Sucking sound is normal.
A SRI will suck up the hot air anyways b/c you don't have it isolated from the engine bay.

pretty sure they took that into consideration when they designed it, and im sure it wouldnt rob the car of power. it is sucking up more hot air than a cold air intake, but its sucking alot more air than a stock intake, so although power gains are minimal, it is not negative. or something like that.

i have the AEM on mine.. and there is definitely NOT a lack of power with it. :)

I like the way Capnsavem explains it and the gains do outweigh the drawbacks.

the sucking sound is amazing. even when I had a moroso race muffler and dump on my car the intake could still be heard at WOT, it was pretty :D
I wouldn't worry about the hot/cold air issue because you're cramming so much more of it into the space. there are many debates about SRI vs CAI but in the end the gains for both with the FS-DE are minimal on the dyno so just know that you're adding power either way and enjoy the intake ;)
