We previously mentioned in our Audi Q7 SUV Spy Photos (http://www.germancarfans.com/spyphotos.cfm/spyphotoid/6050408.001) article that the top engine will be a 5.5 liter FSI V10 producing 550 hp and 413 lbs/ft of torque. This same engine will also be handed over to the new RS 6 due in 2008 however the new S6 will receive a slightly tuned down version with 5.2 liters of displacement producing 440hp and 396 lbs/ft of torque. Initially a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission will be the only available choice but later comes the 7-speed DSG double clutch transmission. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

These latest spy photos reveal double dual exhaust with a sportier rear fascia. The front fascia resembles the A6 S-line package but slightly more aggressive and smoothed over. Front grille slats still retain a mesh sport look but significantly larger slats for increased air flow. Expect public debut at Geneva 2006.

Where are the chrome mirrors? And hopefully the productions wheels will be different: the Avus wheels are iconic, and they should stick closely to them.

I wasn't from the pictures, but seeing it in real life I kind of like it and it looks mean.

i love the new grills! whats so great about them is that they have an elegant classic/futuristic look. i wish i could afford one:(

Its competition is the E55 AMG, CLS 55 AMG, and The M5.

with only 420 hp there is no way it will compete against the M5 or E55. that is reserved for the RS6.

Maybe it will compete with the n/a amg models? but they make no sedans that are n/a except the C class.

i think the aluminum mirrors are for the rs6. that color looks too "young" for the s6. nice looking car, though. a lot meaner than the last a6.
