This module for the protege is not applicable for the mp3 ecu's. The voltage is different. After completing the installation I then talked to Jet performance to find out that there is not a v-force power module designed for the mazda mp3's.... So if you have thought of or were thinking of purchasing one save your 200.00 dollars and buy something else. However Jet performance did inform me that they can reprogram the chip in the ecu if you send it them. of course there is some more money involved.

the only differece between the two is the timing
Jet chips are jokes in my opinion, they made an ecu for the first gen neons that actualy made .5hp less power than stock, meaning it was the just a stock computer that cost $300
if it does not work on the Mp3 it wont work on any protege

jet chip = garbage
ask then what they alter on the ecu and then do your own testing to verify it. (i.e. dyno with wideband and a data-logging system)
