I just got done driving through a pretty heavy rain and went to get some stuff out of my trunk and came to notice that all of the carpet on the driver's side was soaked. I lifted the carpet up and it was wet underneath and even down around the spare. Has anyone else had this problem or encountered anything like this previously? What pissed me off even more was the fact that my amp was sitting in a small puddle of water when I was running it!! Can anyone say "electrical fire from short out causing major lawsuit against Mazda North America?" Anyways, I'm calling the dealer today to see what they say. Anyone that knows anything about this and info is greatly appreaciated. TIA.

Hey i have not noticed water yet, but i did notice when i took my car to rust check and got it done that in the trunck it was full of there red shit. It took like two weeks before it stopped, i think it is actually comming in up threw the wheel well. You might want check that out too. I have not noticed the water thing yet but mind you i have not checked for a couple of weeks. I try not to pay attention to the cars little quirks anymore, it just ends up freaken me out!!!!

I have it too, although I drive P5. I'm almost certain I have the problem pegged (it is coming in through the top of a taillight), and I've "caulked" the hell out of it w/clear silicone. Only time will tell though:

Thanks for the input guys. I have an appointment with a dealership so that they can take a look at it on Saturday. Needless to say I'm a little upset that I even have to take care of something like this, but as long as it gets fixed I can deal with it since the car is still under warranty. I have had all of the interior peices out of the trunk and can't see anything myself, so I guess I'll just have to see what they can find.

I noticed yesterday at my Mazda dealership that they were showering the left side rear end of a Mazda 3 for like 2 hours after having fixed what seemed to me to be a leak. So you arent the only one.

That's good to know, hopefully I won't have any problems when I take my car to the dealership. I would hate to have to tell them how it is gonna be, but I will definately make them see it my way if I have to. I've heard a lot of horror stories about dealers and mods lately, and parts not getting fixed that should be.
