I heard that this turbo can add 500-600 hp to our proteges. I'll find the article and post it. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so....how much $?

Yeah that kit is sick. The turbo manifold alone gives at least 50vhp.

However you must know you need an engine/ drivetrain to support this.

absolutely. A turbo kit is just the first step to getting 500-600hp. you'll spend at LEAST $10,000 getting there. We can get a kit for you that'll make that power, but be warned, its NOT cheap to get the power to the ground.

And on a practical note, why would you want that much power in a fwd car? lol. But if that's your goal, I'd definitely call up Beau and see what he can do for you. MPNick can also help get you there, but Beau seems to be the closest to doing it.

The Thumper kit if capable of making in the 500-600HP range(depending on turbo). However to make that kind of power you will need the supporting mods.
Just a small run down

Motor build
Engine Management
Injectors
Thumper turbo kit
LSD
Clutch
Axles
Fuel system
transmission gears
that is just to name a few

expect to speed in the $12,000-$15,000 range for a 500-600HP Protege.
We have a customer that is in the Marines that has our Shortblock,Thumper turbo kit,E6X,LSD,axles,650cc injectors, etc and made 410whp at 20-21 psi.
