I got a call from my dealer today saying that 18 will be shipping tomorrow and then 150 next week. He doesn't know which dealerships are getting what. He told me that my car will be coming from Michigan, which sounds more true than the guys they have working at Mazda's customer service dept.
Now that we have 5 inches of snow, I cannot drive my Miata in this slop. I still have my Toyo T1-S's on the car and they don't like snow. It should have been put away along time ago. My dealership is arranging for me to drive a loaner car until my car actually gets here. They are now making me put down a deposit on the car to make sure I am serious. I guess the constant calling and stopping by the dealership wasn't enough.
There is hope!

I put my summer rims (ssr integrals with 215/45 T1Ss) back on in late march last year....went back to rochester NY and got caught out in a snow storm in april. my car would not move. Wouldnt move. And once it did move, it would not stop.....ridiculous

Sounds true, JohnnyMiata. Unless other protege's have the Mazdaspeed spoiler (they don't, do they?), then I just saw a black one in downtown Cincinnati with dealer plates. Looks like they have begun arriving.

I think all the MSP's driving around are manufactuer promo's. My local Mazda dealer told me again tonight, that they don't know when they will start receiving cars to sell. They did just get a "show off" MSP today though. One of the look, but you can't drive type things.

Michigan here,
Two weeks ago my wife got a call from the dealer who reasured us that everyone else was in the same boat... BUT... the cars were in Michigan: waiting for a part for the turbo/ exhaust. How could B. C. get one of the first shipments when the cars couldn't have been more than 180 miles away from me?

Not all the Mazdaspeed Proteges are in Michigan. Mine is, and if you're buying one, yours is, but they're being modified at other ports (like British Columbia) as well.
digi168 even drove his car from the port to his dealer. The cars are being sold in Canada because they had to deliver some in order to get a Candian auto journalists award.
