I have seen many articles on the MazdaSpeed Protege and have seen some refer to it as a MSP and some as a MPS.

If you look at the concept pictures from mazda they say MPS concept.

so what is the offical word anyone know?

well, being the fact that MSP is based on the regular Protege, it will be able to use all the existing aftermarket parts available for the Protege EXCEPT engine-related parts...

A nice set of JIC or TEIN coilovers would be a good start...
