View Full Version : MP3 \ P5 Compatability...
I'm looking to get an air cylinder kit for my MP3 but they only offer one for the P5..I was almost positive that the brackets would fit both cars, but I just wanted to make sure before dropping like 2 grand hehe. So am I right? Isnt the mounting pointts for the suspension the same on all proteges?
..The kit I am looking at is from Brislands..Its real nice..
So noone knows??? I am almost positive that the are the same just need comfirmation...

The suspension is basically the same...But you want what for the suspension??
Air cylinders? Why?
heh I knew this was coming.........
I have always loved the look of a dropped ride...and I really wanted to have my MP3 sitting low..I was going to go with coilovers...but where I live, the roads are shitty and not all are suitable for a lowered car, plus the ramp on the front of my driveway is a freakin 45 degree angle so anything lower than this and there goes the front of my car..I really need some type of adjustable suspension..but on the fly(not like coilovers, itd be a real pain in the ass to either park on the street everyday or get out and crank em up before pulling in)...Hydros and Airbags are bleh...SOOOO Im left with cylinders...

Well, have fun...Just say good-bye to handling well.
yeaaaa i know...the thing is...I have until summer to make my decision...thats when the money will be available...so for now im just researching all of my big money projects(turbo/air cylinders/extensive body mods) and ill eventually choose what i wanna do...For a while..Ive been figuring on making my MP3 a show car, since noone was really able to get many good numbers out of it...but lately seeing all the successful boosters..and the announcement of a new ecu from spoolin coming..im really starting to wonder just what the hell to do...If Im going to go turbo, I'll have to save up for a while not just this summer

Basically the same? Could I just ask if it really IS the same or it's almost the same suspension on those two cars?
Also in on airsuspension but can only find to the Protege5.

From what I've seen it is pretty much the same.
The rear sub frame is shaped slightly differently on the MP3, which also changes the rear sway bar mount.
The struts mount the same way though on the bottom and the top.

You know they make some bas ass air struts now that have just as good handling as coilovers right?

I saw something on TV about that...Somethign about Air Ride being the company bridging that gap. I don't remember exactly.
But they don't have Protege stuff.
Is the stuff available for the Protege performance oriented?
