you could just unplug the stock sender and replace it with the autometer sender
otherwise, get the fittings!

You need a BSP to NPT adapter (search for this before you buy to be sure I have the order right) from Summit Racing. You do not need a T unless you want to keep your usless stock idiot light. It throws a ground when you hit 5lbs.

Actually this will not work. The oil sender from autometer is american. We have forign(sp) cars. It will not just screw right in.

Getting there.. Pic below may help us clear this up better. i used an image from an opld post and labeled it some more to help clarify my question
what and where to i get the T-Valve. I got the converter as shown above but now i am clueless to the T-Valve. Mainly because according to the diagram i have to find one like it and that seems impossible.
Take a look and see and maybe someone here can answer my question!

DO NOT BUY BRASS!!!!!!!!!!
Go with SS. I had 2 brass adapters break on my car. Our engines move way too much.

oops think i bought brass!!! WTF then whats the damn part number for SS but then again i have a engine mount so engine just vibrates and doen't move as much... think that will help?

Yea I can't stress it enough. SS is way better.
McMaster Carr is where I got mine.

I can't find it right now. I have the shipping stuff and part number at home. I can post later tonight. I know it was 9 bucks.

ummm, I think i have brass... how is brass affected by the engines moving, and is this fixed with the motor mounts?

Brass is a soft metal and will become weak as it moves back and forth.

Two females and one male is the way to go.
Two males and one female always creates unwanted tension.

i still dont get it. it not like there is an extreme amount of weight against the fitting, so how will it break? the only weight it has is the weight of the oil line and the oem sender...

Brass is a very soft metal and our motors move a ton and not nice movement either...it really jars back and forth. I went through 2. Left me fucking walking twice. Thank God for AAA.
Here is the part I bought. 4092 K11 1/8 NPT X 1/8 BSPT 6100 psi. 5.68 each plus shipping....9.18.

I highly advise against the T. This will add weight to the whole assembly and put more stress on the adapter. In addition what would you need an idiot light for something you already have a gauge for. ALSO you have very limited room in that area to install all this.
One more note. I still have yet to install my SS peice. I will change the oil when it gets warm and add the new SS adapter. If this one let's go I will throw the gauge down the street and kick it for 1/4 mile!

You make a valid point!!!!
i guess i will search for how to make sure the idiot light doesn't come on. or someone can put it here since this is becoming an all encompassing thread on oil pressure guages! after we get all the info squared away i will clean it up!!!
BTW II-Savy... do you have a engine mount???

I have only the stock mounts. I don't want a vibrating buzzy car. In addition I believe it's our rapid changing A/F ratios that makes our engines rock and jar so bad.
The idiot light will NOT come on when it's disconnected. I have done it twice don't forget. The light will light up when it see 5psi. disconnected the car will NOT light up the light on the dash. I am 100% positive.

there is a difference but its not bad at all. I sat in a P5 with front and rear and that was bad. the front just vibrates like a chair. actually kind of soothing!!!! and the engine loves it!! when you floor it the front of the car just lifts right up barely any lag at all in response! I like it but that is just me!

I probably would have to feel it before I went and purchased the mount.

Mechanical ? I would advise against those. Running an oil line INSIDE the car is asking for trouble.
"i have an electric oil pressure gauge that has no 'sending unit' to hook up any fittings to"
You need a sending unit.

from what i read (please correct me) but where the stock sending unit is theres also a wire with it, can't i just tap that wire with the 'sending' wire from my guage?

No you can not. The stock sending unit doesn't DO anything untill you reach 5psi, then it throws a ground and you get a light on the dash. The stock sending unit isn't "smart" enough to read the pressure and constantly report on it. You need a sending unit.

hey, thanks Savy. i've read alot of these oil gauge posts, and you really must be getting tired of saing alot of the same things. but you definitely drive the point home and always willing to clarify when needed. just wanted to say thanks for the info (2thumbs)

No problem. I've been through the install process now twice because of 2 failed brass adapters. It is to bad you can't just tap that wire, man that would rock. When I use the SS adapter, if THAT fails I think I'm getting a little Tachometer to take it's place. Hopefully the 3 try is a charm. ;)
