Anybody in the FL area have their radio stolen recently? Granted we aren't the only people that have Mp-919's but it's worth a shot.

good catch, but i doubt anything could be done anyway since it was purchased from an auction (or so they say)... it is a little weird it doesn't have the face plate though...

it was purchased from a police auction, so it was a theft recovery...nothing can be done, but buy it if you want it

I should buy it. I have an extra faceplate from my first MSP. :)

I thought faceplate had to be programmed to each stero so its not just swappable.

Darn, well there goes my idea of having a nice spare radio.

I thought that was only if you programmed a security code into it.

The price is going up anyway. I don't want to buy a jacked radio anyway. Bad karma.

I was just thinking this would make a great 2nd unit for my winter beater...

One face plate for 2 decks.. but not if the faces can't be used on both....

I've used my headunit in another MSP to check theirs for problems without an issue. After setting the code, though, is another story.

when it's in the horizontal position, as it powers off, pull the silver faceplate (not the entire tray) out towards you. to repllace, put the right side in first and then push the left side in.

edit: and rtfm. :D

edit: and rtfm. :DHmmm...not to further this threadjack...but I always put my faceplate in the left side first and push the right side in...because of the arrow pointing to the left I guess. Either it doesn't matter, or I have been causing minor damage everytime I did this leading to the inevitable failure of HU #1. Oh well.(first)

eh, I just took my own advice and read the fucking manual, which does show putting the left side in first and then the right until it locks. I'm not too sure if damage is done from doing it the other way, and maybe that's why I'm on my third radio, with the forth on order.

I have never taken my faceplate off at all, and have had no problems. But if I ever do, it sounds like it would be safer by the "pushing in on either side" than the "pull it out" method. It sounds safer!

Erm, you have to pull the faceplate out to *remove* and then push it in to reinstall.

See page 17 in the radio manual.
