Ok here is the deal. This only happens at low RPM's in 1st gear. I easy off the clutch like im driving normally, not driving it hard and i get this grinding sound that can be felt throughout the whole floor of the car. I thought it was the diff giving out but someone told me they dont give you any signs they are going out they just die. Ive never felt a bad clutch do this. I cant figure it out. Anyone else with the same problem or know what the hell is going on with the damn thing?? Also if someone knows what the problem is what is the beat Aftermarket fix.... Damn mazda OE parts if it breaks UPGRADE...... thats my motto.

Thanks

no its not like the luging you get when you come off the clutch too fast and you get that stuttering noise this is a definate grinding that happens in 1st and the noise can be heard up to about 3500 RPM's.

what did the dealer have to say?

Could it be the brakes sticking? I know I get that when it rains or its really humid and the brakes kinda rust and stick. Once I get moving and apply the brakes a few times it goes away.

Just a thought.

Hopefully you have some warranty holmes...regardless of what it is I hope you can get it fixed for free at the dealership.

I had that same problem. It was an odd grinding noise and it would come up just every so often. After I got my Unichip and exaust, it went away. I'm not sure what it ever was, but it's gone now.

I had something similar to this and it turned out to be a broken bracket on the j-pipe of my exhaust. Get up under there and check that out, could be any easy fix. If that's it, the part is only like $6.

it is definately not a gear grinding..... its sounds more like when you are driving on the highway and you go onto the shoulder a bit and they have that uneven pavement down..... thats kinda what it sounds like. I thought this would be something severe but it seems that it might not. The weather here has been kinda wet so when things dry out ill climb unber there and check my J-pipe, but i dont thing it has anything to do with the exhaust

Yeah, thats the same noise discription I'd give but I couldnt quite think of something that it sounded like. But yeah, that fits the sound to a 'T'.
