I'm getting the Kartboy shifter bushings. Besides a short shifter (which I won't be getting), what else should I get to complete the whole shifter experience? Fluids, bushings, whatever. I want brand names and places to buy.
Oh yea...I'm looking to spend about 100 bucks total.

I dont understand why you would even bother changing that and then look at changing the other things if your not going to change the shifter. Changing the shifter would way more of a difference.
anyway you could get the bronze oil bushings, stainless steel clutch line to go with it as well

Redline MT-90 tranny fluid, that plus the Bushings make a great combo from what Ive heard and both are under 100

It's mostly a financial decision not to go with the short shifter. I don't really want it to be much lower anyway. I really just want to see what everyone is talking about with these kartboy bushings. So many great reviews.
The bronzoil bushings... are they different from the ones Kartboy sells?

if you don't want it any lower get the b&m shifter it actually raises the stock height an inch or so.

But yeah, you should be able to find a fairly good short-shifter for under $100 .. Hell, I got my Megan SS for $50. Of course, that was through this site and it was a GB -- so maybe that doesn't count, LOL.
Good luck! You'll like the bushings. I <3 mine.

I recommend Red Line MT-90 M/T oil. It definitely provides smoother shifts. You can buy it at:
Bruce's Speed Shop
305 Rt. 46 (west)
Rockaway Boro, NJ
Hours: M-F 10-7; Sat. 10-2
Thet have a complete selection of Red Line products.

Thanks a lot for the advice people. I have no problem doing up a nice how-to. I will be learning everything from start to finish though so it will definitely be a how-to for n00bs. I'm keeping the stock shifter. Now that I just got my first speeding ticket, I'll have even less money to spend. Keep your eyes open in the next week or so for that how-to.

Yeah, pretty easy. Just to add though, if you have a lift, great! But if not, then you will be cramped for space. Just set your jackstands to the highest.
