has anyone else had this happen? my car wouldn't start the other day without giving it gas, wouldn't hold an idle until it warmed up, and then would hold a really rough idle. i brought it to the dealer and they say the iac went bad. they said the idle wouldn't adjust when they tried different things, so the iac is the culprit. has anyone else had this problem?

i do get a rental for the weekend though which is always fun :)

I haven't heard of anyone else here having that problem outside of screwing it up while installing other mods. It shouldn't be a difficult repair though, so enjoy having a car for the weekend that you can beat the ever loving piss out of without the fear of any repercussions!

Idle air control valve.

It happends. My cav did it, i think its common. Its just a little pintle valve thats pretty sensative, usually covered in carbon, it can be cleaned but it does go bad.

not on my msp... but my 4g63 laser went through about 15 of these in 10,000 miles.

hmm, maybe i'll finally have a decent, consistent idle :) i had it go on my probe before but that had like 70k miles on it, i wouldn't expect a car with 18k on the clock to have the iac go bad, but i guess it happens. the weird thing is when i parked it the day before it was fine, then i went to start it the next day and problems. it was kinda weird, i was thinking it had to do with condensation because of the quick drop in temp and the snow, but i guess not
