Hey, i havent driven my car in a while.. and it was due to the batt being dead and no income. Well i just installed a opt red top, and had the car running for awhile. Weird thing is, i heard ticking.. it would come on the sound off.. happen about every few seconds.. coming from the front of the engine, i remember the car being quite.. not its pretty loud, you can even hear it with the hood closed... Am i just blowing this up and it should sound like that? or am i wrong and the car should be quite? let me know, im worried.. thanks.. i took it to the dealer about a month ago to change the oil and they said nothing was wrong with the car.. but again thats the dealer...

Perhaps you are hearing the battery tie down vibrating on something. The Optima's are not as tall as the stock battery so the tie down doesn't fit nearly as well.

Could it be a fuse. I'm not sure if these fuses on our car make a ticking noise. That's the only thing i can think of right now. just check the fuses to make sure they are in working order.

My car has a ticking noise at idle, it makes it sound like a shitty old honda motor w/ 200k on it but once I get above 1000 rpm it goes away. check and see if its the same on yours so I don't feel like I got a problem too. I can hear it outside the car too. It might be somthing to do w/ the cams and how they are adjusted to the valves. I can't remeber what its called but I looked it up one time in an auto book and it kinda described what I have

I've had this problem from the first day I drove the car It's the fuel injectors ticking. I might be wrong with your car but thats what it is on my car. A friend at a shop showed me. (see it's just the injectors cycling) as he put a metal screw driver to the injector. hopefully theres nothing really wrong with your car. g/l
