Last year around Mid-March, I took my snow tires off and got stuck in a late snowstorm. The stock tires were terrible and my typical 20 minute commute took about 2 hours.
This year, I had the opportunity to put my nice racing harts back on this weekend but only opted to put only the rear ones back on. It saved my ass today when I got stuck in a blizzard on my way home. My Firestone winterforce tires kept me from slipping like a champ. (2thumbs)
Hopefully this is the last time I'll need these until December.

I think it's just the heat from the engine. Mine does that too.

No Evo hood for me. Although my car does look pretty badass under an inch of snow doesn't it?

why put on 2?
You have winter rims, it's not like you're running ghetto steelies.
I got caught out 2 years ago, I won't pull the trigger early ever again.
Watch yourslef with only snow tires on the drive wheels, your car will be VERY tail happy.

It was so nice out last weekend I had to put wheels back on my car. I really needed an excuse to do something outside. Even though I have winter rims, they aren't half as nice looking as the racing harts. It's a huge difference.
Also, because my winter rims were off a RX-7, they're not 100% compatible with my car. Because they are RWD wheels, they sit further out than normal wheels. Whenever I have 2 people in the back seat, going over a bump results in the tire rubbing on the fender. That was driving me nuts.
