surprised no one has yet said anything about the brakes. they are WAAAAYYYYY too small for a wheel that large. not to mention i dont think it looks good anyway. if you plan on keeping those then i suggest you buy larger brakes or plan on spending lots of money on brake pads and new rotors. those rims aren't light. i just put a set of 24's on a tahoe and rims with tires was about 140lbs each. thats a shit load of rotational mass that must be stopped. granted these are only 20 it's still a lot of extra weight on the car. those probably weigh at least 80lbs each (if not closer to 100) with tires. good luck with slowin that thing down. not my style at all but to each his own. but dude get some new brakes, those babies sorta look silly behind all that wheel

They would look a little better if they tucked a bit. Looks like it sits kind of high but really not bad in my opinion.
Not my style but not bad. Nice cruiser, but do get some brakes on that car. I'm sure it doesnt stop like it used to.

If she wants her car to stand out, then why not just get christmas lights and a giant plastic rudolph strapped to the roof. So things like rotating mass don't apply to her. Eh, I guess that's kewl. I'm just thinking about how much you spent on rims and tires, plus what you will be spending on gas to move the fucker.
The nice thing is with that ride height it will be nice and easy to change the oil. Of course it might be just as easy to slide a jack underneath and some concrete blocks... nice rims were made to be admired and acquired.

Hell yeah - now there's an idea. Imagine the stopping distances you could get from 70-0, of course that is assuming the car can actually get up to 70mph with those rims/tires... lol.
Still, a large brembo setup would be pretty impressive.

1st responce was *snicker* after reading all the posts zI have to say this...
I had 16's stock and went with 17s and I noticed the difrence in accel and the fact I stop loosing the inside tire on those 35MPH 90 degree turns(don't attemt what I do ;) ) I can only immaginge...I take that back! I can't imaging a civic dx spewing white smoke pasing me as if I was standing still! what we are saying about brakes aren't that you aren't gonna stop 5 feet shorter but maybe half a football field shorter! Considering the weight of those over stock the added weight may be equal to 4 full size adults in the car! You have the weights...1 of those puppies before mounting may weight more than 2 stock rims with tires! I applaud you on trying to break the barrior but 20's aren't new at all. Smallest accepted rim now is 22. 27 is breaking the barrior but you would literaly need to lift the car for that! 2 Monte carlos already broke the 30 chromes and they literaly had a lift kit fabed up! You still fit in with the croud you wish to but...you just degraded the stock form of the car making it extremely unsafe.
Reason you are seing soo many flames is this isn't "the community for huge rims" I'm not telling you to hi tail it out of here by no means but this is a sample of what hapens to pleople who say 20's...4 doors...and perfomance in the same post! If crossbow and stretch get ahold of this post they will have a heart attack and maybe after they get released from intensive care they might post!

Are you talkin about racing? Cuz i hate to tell you that my Mazda3 ran VERY VERY close to my cousin in his MSP. He couldnt pull on me till i hit my speed limiter at 118.
A M3 will kick your arse doode any day and condition except snow unless they person can't shift for sh!#... sorry. I had a M3 and a C7 both downshift and at 120(my limiter) they kept pulling ;). They later said my bosal exhaust plus door badges made them think my 2.3 was a V6 and thats the only reason they decided to play with me LOL!
P.S. I don't do stuff like that anymore...incourage you all the same

i've seen worse cars on this forum, some of whom are well known/liked members. it's just different. i wouldn't do it to my car but it's not that bad
a nice 18 or 19 with the car lowered, which would make the wheel look bigger, would look much better and you'd be happy with the look too since this is what you did it for. as it is the car needs to be lowered a bit so it doesn't look like a 4x4, but i'm not sure you can lower it because of your wheels

I can not emphasise how dangerous it is to put 20" rims on this car with out doing major suspension upgrades and brakes. This is extremely DANGEROUS. I personally under any circumstance would never put wheels on my car that is bigger or heavier than stock
what about my 18' they are the same weight as stocks

as long as they way the same or less as stock, it's fine but I still wouldnt go down that road. You have to take into consideration that the ABS system and EBFD if your vehicle is equiped with it is calibrated based on the stock wheels size and weight. Some people will even put taller tires ont heir car without recalibrating the computer to get accurate speedometer and odometer readins which is plain stupid and messes with the ABS on the car big time.

For safety and apperance reasons get bigger rotors/brakes
upgrade tires/rims before brakes. Big brake system on stock mishitins/badyears will promote lockup quicker than stock configuration.
As for wemen not liking that...thats not entirely true. I know a few females on 20's. One has 20's on a civic. Not a gender thing...its a culture thing. Thats as far as I will take that convo before it goes in dept of what culture does what ;)

I'll leave that for another discussion i the 6 section. when you put rims on the car that are larger diamater than stock the gearing in the transmittion is also affected. the gearign difrence and weight added= increased braking distance than stock and slower acceleration. cars that have 20's stock are designed to that car by the manuafacturer. I'm not saying that you will die 99% quicker by drivng on them by doing it, but that you may throw off the speedo and odometer by putting the wrong wheels on. If the speedo is off then you may think you are doing 50 but actualy be doing 65. I know people with suvs who killed the power steering from chrome rims. If the original poster feels the rims are safe(especialy since he paid big money for them) then there is nothing in this post that will convince him they are bad till he drives a stock 3 and then his wifes car back to back. He asked for an oppinion from us and he got this thread! I applaud him for even still being here ;) thats heart!

not to mention how changing the diameter will also effect the safety equipment such as ABS and EBFD. The power steering in these cars is not made to handle the weight of 20" rims. The suspension is not made for it, basically, nothing is made for it.
Jazmine3, you should not get offended about the people who hate your new rims, it's more of a safety issue ( a big one), you are playing with fire. Bad accidents can happen at low speeds as well. If you love your wife and really cae about her, keep the car as safe as possible.

Well to be honest, it does sound kinda fishy that you say you're getting a turbo and a cold air intake on a 3. I mean there are CAI's for the MSP's, but no one makes CAI's for aftermarket turbo kits. That just really doesn't make any sense...
Anyway, I'd love to get some more details and pictures of your SRT's. I've always been a fan of the Ram SRT-10.

We went over the CAI on a turbo car thing here a year ago, if you have an intercooler that's not retarded in size (like on the MSP) a CAI is point-less, that's the job of your intercooler. I donno, just seemed kinda weird to me, "I want to get a turbo... And an intake for it!" Whatever.
Your ablility to both register on Internet forums and buy cars is amazing.

I have a butt ton of others as well ! I have pic's of the Twin Turbo install on the 10 and everything else for the Truck (rockon) I have complete video on all the Srt's at the track, Dyno sheets, Race slips what other proof do you need ???? The SRT-4 has a Stage 3 with toyz and many other mods...As far as the Mazda goes I will admit to not knowing shit about it ! As i have in previous posts...I am learning and will not pretend to be a know it all !! That's why I am here (eyeballs) The thread I responded to was about someone else and you called into question my integrity.......Thanks for the warm Mazda welcome (flame) (wow) Who died and made you a moderator bro !
