if you run the tornado on 7v it's actually a good, normal speed fan. fairly quiet and it flows enough. do this by grounding it on the +5v rail, since 12-5=7

I'd just rather not fool with it, I replaced it with a Vantec Stealth, nice and quiet... :D

Vantec Stealth are nice, I run them as well
as for "grounding to the 5V", that is not cool, you really should use an inline resistor to reduce the voltage to the fan
