ok, i know i'm just going on a posting spree... but i couldn't find this same problem doing a search in the forums.
i bought a megan cat-back (2.5") a few months ago. had it installed on my car for a week and could not handle the rattle at idle. took it off and put the stock piping back on. while in the process of removing the megan piping, i noticed there were marks on the heat shield from where the flange was hitting it... hence the rattle. my dad also said he thought the bent part of the pipe (where it curves around the gas tank) was hitting there too, but i couldn't see any marks.
now just wondering how the hell i can get rid of that rattle. kartboy hangers? removing the heat shield and wrapping the pipe with exhaust wrap? any suggestions? i really liked the seat of my pants hp gain i felt, along with a couple miles added to my milage (you know how expensive gas is nowdays). i wanna put that sucker back on, but the rattle just drives me insane... not to mention that sh*t is embarassing when you're sitting at the stop light. (ughdance)
