Has anyone had any experience with the hi-boost turbo kit? I saw on the website that it is supposed to add 100 whp and I wanted to know if this is true or not?

From what I've read on this forum, people have been really happy with their Hiboost kits.

Hiboost kits have been used by many on the forum. Do you have an auto or manual?
I noticed you're in Illinois. You should check out www.protegegarage.com there's all sorts of goodies there for our cars. Plus the guys who run it are fellow Illinoisans.

There are some MP3s running our kit, but all have the E6X upgrade due to the advanced timing in the stock MP3 ECU.

Take the hyphen out of what you're searching for: "hiboost"

Speaking of the HiBoost kit, does anyone know where to find it a little bit cheaper than $4,000.00? If Im going to get this kit in the future, Id like to get an idea as to where I MIGHT be able to find it.

Really the only place that I have seen it at is the actual hiboost website for $3800.00, but I could have sworn that I had seen it somewhere else for $3700.00, but I could just be crazy. Unless you find it used, which I would not buy it used personally, it will probably be around that price.

Alright, thanks a much man. I was hoping Id be lucky and catch a break. But I think Im starting to realize that if I want this kit, $4,000 is whats its gonna cost. I better enjoy that PSI every trip!! Thats for sure...

I've been searching, and can't find what turbo the Hiboost kit uses. Is it a T25, T3, GT28RS, what? It doesn't say at the site(that or I'm missing it and need to learn to read)
I'm just seeing which kit I want to try for. BEGI is now dead I hear and it's pretty much just Wagner Motorsports, MAM, or HiBoost. I'm thinking either HiBoost or MAM. HiBoost seems to be the best affordable, complete, and easy to install kit.

So I was reading about these actually and they are used a lot on WRX upgrades. I heard they have some turbo lag issues, but are pretty good for mid-range. So what do you think about it? Good, ok, or bad?

its pretty good, builds boost at around 2200 i think? then by 3300, 3500 you're at full boost (atleast at 8 psi for me) it starts pulling pretty damn fast, when dropping gears and going it builds up boost pretty damn fast, lag isn't that bad unless your in a really high gear trying to accelerate then you start to notice but nothing horrble
apparently its comparable to a gt28r

The lag in the WRX is due to engine design. Not an issue in the FS 2.0 Liter protege engine. It builds boost in the mid 2000 rpm range and will keep the power all the way to 6700 rpms.
BTW, the price directly from us is $3,800.00 and the kits are in stock.

He's got the same kit and fitted perfectly in his Ford RS. The only difrence is the ECU. He made the intake pipe himself when he saw our new one.

The IHI V22 turbo comes nowhere close in comparison as the GT28R,GT28RS or any Garrett GT line turbo.
The GT series line is the latest and greatest from Garrett. The IHI V22 is the same and has been for roughly 15-20 years now.Their's nothing new about it.Still old school technoligy.
Example:
505Zoom..He has a GT28RS with my FMIC and manifold.He makes 264whp at just 12psi.

FC3s Boy was offering the kit at $3500. Is that the exact same kit or have things changed a bit?
