thinking about meth injection

What's your guys experience with it, who has it, what do you think about it?

My friend said it would be a good idea. He showed me this kit. Seems very good for the money.

A s10 gained like 50 hp just by using it. There is a dyno graph

question is does this hurt the rods more or will this help protect the engine.

I am unsure how this works. It seems like a good bang for the buck though.

dude alky/meth injection is badass. it cools the charge down enough to prevent detonation. my buddy with a turbo 2002 corolla has it. it allowed him to increase boost from 6psi-12psi with NO KNOCK. it's hooked up to a pressure switch that activates at 5psi. it causes your car to rock out with the cock out.

There's a few guys up here in AK that use it in their WRX's. Check the threads in NASIOC. I guess part of their reason for using it is also cause the highest octane we can get up here is 90; I guess they're using it to up boost and prevent knock, as well.

it doesn't magically give you hp, but on a FI car, it will allow you to run higher boost without blowing shit up...

but how do you think the msp will hold up. I am planning on only using it when i'm at the track of course but if its too much of a risk i'll just forget it.

Detonation is bad for your rods, and methanol injection is one way of preventing it. That said, any added power is also bad for your rods, so past a certain point no method of protection will help besides getting new rods.

You will not gain hp with meth injection. It is impossible as it is there to act as a buffer for detonation. How do you gain hp by adding a non burnable thing? If anything you lose hp. The only thing its good for is as a last resort to fight detonation. Oh and that dyno chart is the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time. How do you gain 50hp while your a/f ratio's drop off the chart rich from being almost perfect???? B/S.

I didnt even want to comment on the BS dyno graph. I figured that was a given.

Blkzoomzoom was not being a dick either, maybe someone needs a nap.

It mixes water or methanol vapor along with your fuel so that combustion temperatures are lower. As far as how it turns on and off or how it knows how much to spray that is beyond me. I believe it is an on/off type of thing. Maybe boost activated.

if you want to believe a dyno that is posted by the person selling a product, that is your choice, i have seen meth kits on plenty of cars, and if you ask the owners why they use it the answer is something along the lines of "to raise the boost without knocking" , but i know nothing about cars so believe them i guess?
