hey guys...I have a mazda 3. I love the car. My parents are in the market for a new car so I showed them the Motor Trend article on the mazdaspeed 6. They went to the dealership to find out more info and ended up ordering one. Black Cherry Mica, black leather, and nav. No moonroof..that's ok though. Dealer said it would be built next week and should arrive in about 3 months. This particular dealership was only alloted 2 speed 6's. We were the first. Can't wait!

Dealer is lying to you. Production was just delayed again. Don't expect to actually see one prior to summer.

I am thinking closer to July - August...at least that is what I was told by my dealer. (2thumbs)

yeah, that was like when I ordered my 3. Put a deposit down in feb and it didn't arrive at the dealer until mid june. That's part of the reason I have a 6 now.

I'd say august-sept is an excellent bet...but since its already been delayed 3 times? It could be delayed again...so just keep your fingers crossed. Maybe they're replacing the wheel/tires and dropping 400 lbs (friday) .

sounds like when i ordered my MSP...put in the order in beginning of October '02, was told it would be in by Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then X-mas, then...... didn't get it until Jan 30, '03. Longest wait of my life!!! LOL!

Have fun...I can't wait to read some threads with drivers comments.

I've had mine ordered since Oct 04. The Canadian orders were supposed to ship before the US orders. Mine was originally supposed to be here Feb 16, approx 6 wks after production was supposed to start. Then they were delayed a month so that mine was supposed to arrive next week. I phoned Mazda Canada last week and they told me not to expect it until mid-summer. I cancelled my order on a 05 Subaru Legacy GT to place the order on the MS6. Now I'm thinking I might just go back with the Legacy GT. I already extended my wife's lease to wait for this thing and now I gotta wait another 4-5 months. Don't know if I have the patience.

you realize if you wait a year after it comes out you could get one for like 2k under invoice. The mazdaspeed miatas are just sitting on the lots and they are pretty much giving them away.

Yeah, we had our MSP "on order" with money down for eight months, waiting, waiting. Each week it was "One more week," and "any day now." At the same time I was here on this site seeing pics of them just sitting at the ports collecting dust. I got mine the day it came off the truck, paid sticker for it, and six months later they add another 2000 to the "Limited" run and then offer rebates and incentives. People were buying thier MSPs for $15,995 out the door! I still owe more than that on mine!

I wouldnt go with a legacy GT, that thing has piss poor gas mileage. As poor as 20 liters of gas per 100 kilometers.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a non GT MPS 6 for about the price of a loaded 6s in a year. At those prices, what little faults it has, can be easily overlooked.

Though man...someone in our area got an MSM for a rediculous price...almost makes me want to trade in...AGAIN lol. Man I wish I was rich.

well, whenever it comes, it comes...they don't seem to be in a big hurry.

no reason to rush anyways... The Legacy is already by far a much better choice... On top of that, the MS6 and MSM are now considered production cars... They're already 05 MSM on the lot... at least here in Canada anyways...

Rainman lives in Canada, nobody buys cars under invoice here no matter how long he waits.

Most of the Import company's in Canada don't get big holdbacks, rebates, and quantity bonuses like they do in the U.S. They have to actually make a profit at the point of sale. In the U.S. in most cases the dealers make money even if they sell the car at dealer invoice. I know everybody is worried about geting gouged, but car salesman and dealers have a right to make a living too.

I've been trying to tell people that the Legacy GT is a mediocore car. Its nice, but doesn't match up to the Mazdaspeed 6. The current 6 will out handle and brake it and although its improved I don't think the fit & finish is up to par yet either.

Since I am planning on leasing it while I am finishing my program, I am not overly concerned about getting it at rock bottom price. Now I'm not saying that I am a fan of getting gouged, but I will call this car the "company car" for tax purposes and get to write off most of it anyway.

Usually, when I get a car, I find out what all the numbers are and then offer them a price/lease payment that has a $1000-1500 cushion built in so that they can eat too. If they say anything other than "yes" I walk out the door. That is how I got my MSP. I made them an offer and they refused. I walked out telling them that I was going to head across the street to the Mitsubishi dealership, which I did right in front of them. They called me back the next day and then the following day...I didn't bother to answer. I only went back when they left a message saying that they would give me the price that I asked for + extended warranty + Toyo winters on rims + tint at no extra charge. You gotta go when you want a car, not when you need a car.

Is this a legacy review thread? Remember the MPS 6 has yet to be reviewed...there are just previews of "hand built" cars. Even the engines were hand constructed.

So here's a slew of legacy reviews to offer my ever annoying counterpoints.

Again....the handling is mediocre and so is ride comfort.

.81g's, Mazda 6 does .87g's, MS6 will do at least .90g's..............

6i actually does .89. 6s pulls .87 due to the crappier tires.

Slightly modified 6i MTX has pulled over .98 in the skidpad. I just hope mazda is using the downtime prior to production to work on the MPS 6's faults. Drop a wee bit of weight, and change the tire/wheel sizing, and it'll be a fantastic car when it sells for 24-25k in a year or so. (in the states)

Agreed...plus the Speed 6 looks way better, the nterior looks way better, and the mazda offers nav, all for around the same price.
