I am going to order this today and I was wondering if anyone has had problems with hydrolocking their motor. I live in the SF bay area, it doesn't rain too much. I just don't want it to happen, my friends CRX got hydrolocked and it is a good thing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you will be fine.
This has been discussed to death, try the search button.
basically, the only way you will hydrolock is if you drove into a lake.

or 1-2 foot high puddles that splash high enough to get in your lower driver side grille. just avoid driving through puddles or lakes. hydrolocking is when water enters your engine and causing the cylinders to be locked and unable to move.

Yea this is almost an impossibility on the MSP. The filter sits so high. You would have to be in DEEP water to have it get sucked up. Deep water as in over 2 feet.

Thanks everyone for your fast replies. Cool I am ordering it right now. I was just a little scared after my friend did it. His B16 is done. Thanks again for the help.

Hey no problem.
You will see youself when you done installing it. Measure from the bottom of the filter to the ground. You'd have to be in crazy deep water to do damage.

The intake will be here today should be installing it tonight. One question though, when I have to get inside the fenderwell to install the filter do I need to jack the car up or will I just be able to turn the wheel?

Do yourself a favor, jack the car up, pull off the wheel, and getting under there will be much easier.

Perfect! Thanks! I noticed the How To on the Injen isn't working anymore, do I have to modify the Coolant bracket that has to be moved?

When you get the intake it should have directions so it should be easy. You don't HAVE TO take the wheel off but it will make the job easier. I think the intake should come with another bracket or you can use the same brackets and just reposition it. I installed a Spool CAI so I'm sure exactly how the Injen will do it.

Didn't Kooldino manage to hydrolock his car?

yeah, you'll need to drill a new hole in the existing coolant bracket.
