two times i have heard my coolant boiling so i am pretty concerned about overheating but not sure what i should do. i have a fmic so i know that a lot of air is being blocked by that also i had to remove the ac fan so i could get my hardpipes to fit. so basically what i want to know is will getting some new slimmer electric fans solve the problem or do i just need a more efficient radiator.

What kit do you have? Removing the fan is not smart....You need to the fans...If you can't fit the stock ones in there, then get yourself the slim ones and the should help. Also what does the temp gauge say? I mean if the Rad is over filled it will move a lot into overflow

1.) Put the freakin' fan back on!
2.) Change your thermostat ...that's the cheapest fix if that's the problem.

yeah there is no way that fan is fitting but i will definetely look at getting some slimmer ones and as for the thermostat uhh how exactly do i change it???

would you rather warp your head and blow a HG or remove the 5-10hp the hardpipes add?

hrm, sounds shitty pro. It might not be boiling over, you may just have a coolant leak like me....I got it fixed two weeks ago, leaking again already..anybody found a way to fix this permanetly? Cause everytime I get it fixed, it comes back.

any of the coolant hoses...they seem to never want to hold for too long. Pretty much everytime I go in I need to get them fixed....

???

redline water wetter when used with distilled water, can lower the operatin temperatures of the cooling system by as much as 20 degress!!!!! but i don't think that will solve anything......

You definitely should put your fan back. MSP runs really hot and it needs every single cooling device to keep it cool. Taking out a fan is not a very wise decision especially when knowing our stock fan is not very efficient.

I used to have the same problem that you have when the coolant is boiling after a hard drive in a very hot summer day. I saw coolant boiling in the overflow(reservior) tank and you will see coolant marks underneath it. Turns out the leak is from the overflow tank because it's cracked in the bottom. I took it to the dealer and they took care of it for free and they said it's a common problem. Since then, I have no problem.
I guess my advice will be taking the car to the dealer and they should fix whatever the leaking or cracking for you.

On the side note, seeing the coolant boiling in your overflow tank doesn't mean you are overheating. It just mean your coolant is very hot. Remember, the coolant in your overflow tank tend to be the hot coolant in the radiator. Because the hot coolant is coming from the engine at the top radiator hose and the coolant overflow hose to the overflow tank is on the top as well. So when the thermostat close, the hot coolant in the radiator expanded and usually push the coolant at the top of the radiator, which is hotter coolant, to the overflow tank.

If I were you, I will try put the fan back on and take the car to the dealer and check for leaks.

Good Luck.
