I am looking into getting a exhaust system for my yellow msp. I want the quitest exhaust system available. I am considering a cs exhaust on ebay, but after reading some reviews it seems like that is one of the louder exhaust systems. Please help!

you want a quiet exhaust- keep your stock. you will NOT find any quiet aftermarket systems unless you hack it up.

Yeah i would say cs is not the way to go. mine is loud as hell. But i like it that way. There is also the silencer on corksport.com if you do chose to get it

it doesn't have to be real quiet. I want sound but i don't want the loud sound and cabin pressure from an exhaust. I just want it to sound good, loud when it's supposed to be and not so loud when you're driving on the expressway at 75

get the CS and keep the silencer in, thats all.

you could get a JIC... or just get the new mazdaspeed muffler from the dealer or online for about 130 bucks, and get a downpipe. Nice, clean, sounding exhuast...
btw what is the diameter of the stock exhaust system?

You could get a vibrant s-pipe back exhaust. It's loud without the silencer but sounds a little louder than an sp2 with it in.

2.25" if i'm not mistaken. It sure as hell doesnt look any bigger than that on the inside of the piping...

I would say get the Greddy SP2... It is deeper that stock, but not much louder..

You can add a resonator.

Check to see if the tip is cracked. If so, go to the dealer and complain about it. They may replace it with the Mazdaspeed muffler for free. Maybe not though. I'd say it's worth a shot.

Get the Greddy SP2.
The first model of SP2 had 2 resonators.
The 2nd edition has one.
I have the 2nd edition, but have yet to run it.
It's supposed to be quiet.

i agree with haze20 on this one the vibrant exhaust is killer and with the silencer it isnt bad at all, kinda hard to take the silencer out once it is in though, cut my nuckles doing that, but it looks and sounds great.

jay - go browse the exhaust thread. i think you'll find what you're looking for.
fai - 1 11/16 - 2 3/8 inches = 1.6875" - 2.375" = 42.8625 mm - 60.325 mm
